Blessings; A girl child

A world without a girl, is as impossible as a world without water.

There is no gainsaying that water is important to our everyday life, it is key to our survival. Such is a girl child to nature, she is a blessing to her parents and the larger community. 


In our contemporary society, most girls grow up with so many invisible strings pulling them from different directions which over time make up a mindset for most girls.


In Africa, when a woman gives birth, the first question mostly asked is, "Is he a boy?" Only a few add girl to the question. Well, that depicts the value placed on the female gender.


Cultural belief has painted the impression that the existence of a generation is hinged on the shoulder of a man. Alas! On the flip side of the coin, without the female gender, this can not be achieved. Also, without her, procreation will hit a firm resistance. So, female gender can be likened to water which turns the dry land into a productive one.


Though, society makes the female gender inferior to its male counterpart. By their choice of words, expectations, and unimaginable control measures put in place by family, religion, culture, political and ideological belief system and many more, to check the girl child, which a boy is immune to. 


Allow the girl child to flourish, positively, allow her to be who she wants to be. 

 

We limit our girl child with words like "No, you're a girl" you are not allowed to do this or go there and the examples are endless.


In our 21st century, girls and women are taking over in every sector from science, medicine, judiciary, and every area you might want to think of, women are breaking barriers and achieving their optimum goals and ambitions.


Yes, the gentility of females is a design of nature and proven by science. She is gentle and soft but not weak or docile. 


It is the season of love and affection, allow your girl child and women to flourish. Avoid stereotypes that limit or cripple her desire to aim high and pursue her goals. 


Allow your girl child to excel and blossom because she is to the world what water is to dry land.
