Attain Mental Peace!

Happiness and attitude towards attaining peace of mind.
Many a time, we attach happiness to people or things. Alas, happiness is found within and not around you... This is a lesson some people learned the hard way while to some, it takes a lifetime to realise this.

A poet & writer of Liberal views, Edward Jerningham aptly said, to be happy you must be your own sunshine. Again, an American actress Julia Roberts noted that one of the first steps to happiness is deciding that you want to be happy and knowing what that means. To be happy is a choice you make every day, every hour, refining and renewing that state is a constant pursuit.
I have learnt that it is not what people say to you, or what people think about you that shapes your happiness or attitude which determines your state of mind at any given moment or situation. Rather it is what you say to yourself because the strongest and the most destructive voice is your own. Speak positive to yourself, happiness is from within you not from around you.
Indeed. Attitude is the key to happiness, your attitude towards yourself, and how you respond and interpret things to yourself determines a lot, including your state of mind. Therefore, your attitude determines your peace of mind. Are you always thinking and overthinking things or comparing yourself to others?
In every situation, moment or any given time, attitude is what matters most, how you react either positively or negatively affects you more than it affects those around you or the environment.
As humans we have the greatest Power of all times, wondering what this power is? It is the power of choice.
We mostly like to think that our attitudes are affected by what people do and say to us, but in reality, it is what we say to ourselves that has the greatest influence on how we respond to situations and present ourselves to the world.
Every day, now and then we are faced with challenges, some of which are so hard, so heavy that you feel like letting go, all bow down to attitude. Which angle are you looking at life from? Are you being optimistic or pessimistic about things! Look carefully within, do you think of the negative more than the positive? If yes, take a shift in paradigm and start paying attention to the positive, no matter how slim or unlikely positivity there is in a situation or circumstances.
Attitude is the aggregate of the universe, hence, to attain peace of mind, to be able to have a sound sleep at night and build sound relationships with people and even the environment. You need to pay attention to your attitude. Be conscious about being positive at all times, if not for anything for your mental health and well-being.
